Coffee Break immediately conjures the first sip of foamy coffee and its comforting aroma, the heartwarming sound of the coffee machines, and the gentle noise of the environment. It is a joyous composition made by the imagination of master perfumer Jacques Cavallier who smartly uses lavender, patchouli, black peppercorns, orange blossom, and milk to start the scent and leave the impression of a cozy warm coffeeshop on a cold snowy winter day. Replica Coffee Break is available now at Sephora.Coffee Break by Maison Martin Margiela is a fragrance for women and men.Ĭoffee Break is a release of the Replica collection. Have you smelled Replica Coffee Break yet? I did so want it to smell like a creamy coffee drink as described by many others but that wasn’t what I got at all here. This scent was interesting but not unique enough for me. Honestly, there’s nothing at all wrong with a good oriental fragrance as far as I’m concerned but when you expect one thing and get another it can be pretty disappointing. I get a bit of a powderiness to the final dry down which makes the scent nice and cozy! For an EDT formula it has a nice throw and a good wear with a fragrance bubble that wafted around me for a good 7 to 8 hours. The lavender blossoms make the fragrance more of a woodsy oriental versus a gourmand. The fragrance is meant to invoke the ambience of a small cafe with notes of Arabica Coffee Beans, lavender blossoms, and milk. The fragrance is very masculine which isn’t a bad thing as I enjoy other masculine scents from Replica like Barber Shop, Jazz Club, and By the Fireplace. As the scent dries down it quickly disappears to be replaced by a stronger, harsher lavender note. It’s very faint and very much in the background. The first mist of Coffee Break wet on my skin I can almost detect a creamy coffee note if I put my nose really, really, really close to my wrist. I wouldn’t say they have the same notes but the fragrances just seem a bit similar to each other. I have both scents and I felt like the two could easily be interchanged. Replica Coffee Break seems to veer into the realms of the brand’s newer scent called Whispers in the Library. Disappointing to a point I want to return it. Sadly, Replica Coffee Break is disappointing. They typically capture the vibe and inspiration of a place or a memory very easily! I have almost all of their scents and about 90% of them have all been a really good experience for me. Coffee? What? This smells nothing like coffee. After trying it I realized everyone that reviewed it and said it smelled like coffee must have been drunk AF when they wrote those reviews. After reading reviews on Replica Coffee Break Fragrance and all the raves about it smelling like creamy coffee I decided to buy it. I already have a lot of different coffee fragrances but I don’t mind adding more to my arsenal. The roasted beans, the creamy milk, the sugar, the warmth, and coziness of the scent just makes me think of a brisk Fall day! Ironically, I don’t drink coffee, I don’t even like it all that much but I love the smell of it! I find the smell of it heavenly. Yes, I like to run around smelling like I spilled a Macchiato down my shirt. I purchased this immediately upon seeing it pop up because I love, LOVE coffee scents. As you may know Coffee Break is a new, Nordstrom exclusive perfume that launched in the Maison Margiela Replica Fragrance Collection which is now available at Sephora.
